Duo Arcor is an internationally acclaimed cello and violin duo, renowned for their mesmerizing performances of original compositions and transcriptions. With a passion for classical music, Duo Arcor captivates audiences with their seamless blend of technical mastery and artistic expression.

Carlos Johnson

Born in Lina (Peru), Carlos Johnson received his first violin lessons at the age of six. He studied in Sofia and Michigan before attending the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, where he passed his concert exam with the highest honours.

 

He has repeatedly performed as a soloist with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, the Tibor Varga Chamber Orchestra and the Detmold Chamber Orchestra. He has been first concertmaster of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck since 2000. Radio and CD productions as well as international concert tours have taken him through Europe, South America and Japan.

Katrina Crichton

Katrina Crichton was born in Belgium and began her musical education in her home country. After completing her Bachelor of Arts (Music) at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where she studied with E. Ferrand and R. Kirshbaum, she continued her studies in Weimar with Prof. B. Böhme, where she obtained an "Artistic Postgraduate Degree" from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music.

She also studied with A. Bijlsma, T. Tsutsumi, W. Boettcher and M. Kliegel as well as with the LaSalle and Alban Berg quartets. Katrina Crichton has performed as a soloist not only in Europe, but also in the USA, Canada, South America and India.

She has won prizes in numerous competitions: Jeunes Solistes RTBF, Jong Tenuto BRTN, Axion Classics and has been the recipient of scholarships from various foundations such as the Mozarteum Scholarship (Austria), the Trossingen Open Chamber Music Award (Germany) and the Bowdoin Major Scholarship Award (USA). and Dartington Scholarship Award (UK).

Her chamber music partners have included P. Vernikov, F. Agostini, W. Rademacher, A. Gerhardt, C. Cimmerman and members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
